NOTD - "Ozotic 314" and Max Factor's "Fantasy Fire"

The combination: Fantasy Fire and Ozotic 314.
I went for something a bit more bold this week - a dark purple neon nail. I used one coat of Picture Polish's Ozotic 314 and then two coats of Max Factor's Fantasy Fire. Ozotic 314 is a neon purple that I bought from the Bellabox website. It helps to give more depth to Fantasy Fire. Fantasy Fire is an amazing multi chrome shimmery purple. Depending on the light you might see pink, green or gold sparkles. It's a really unique colour and I'm so pleased I have it in my collection. You can find Fantasy Fire relatively easily in Australia, wherever Max Factor is stocked.

What do you think of this nail polish combination?

Naked 2 palette - Look 2

A natural "everyday" look using: foxy; bootycall; tease & blackout from the Naked 2 palette.
Continuing with the Naked 2 mini-series, today's makeup is a natural "everyday" look. I think it's perfect for work or when you want to look "put-together".

First I applied "bootycall" to the tear duct area and the entire lid. Then I applied "tease" through the crease and blended it out. I then took "foxy" and used it as a brow bone highlight. To make the lashes look a bit fuller without using eyeliner, I used "blackout" along the lash line.

What do you think? It's quite similar to Look 1 but more natural and wearable. Be sure to look out for Look 3!

Naked 2 palette - Look 1

Naked 2 shadows used: bootycall; chopper; tease; busted; foxy.
As promised a few posts ago (click here), this is the first of 3 looks created using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.  I adore this palette and use it frequently. Look 1 is very versatile and could be warn for a variety of occasions.

First I applied "bootycall" to the tear duct and inner half of my eyelid. I then applied "chopper" to the outer half of my eyelid. Make sure you gently blend these colours where they meet in the middle. I then took "tease" through the crease. This is a matte shade so you might need to work a bit harder to blend it out. I then used "foxy" as a browbone highlight and took "busted" along the lashline, thickening the line  slightly as you work outwards.

What do you think? Have you created this look with your palette before? Be sure to look out for look 2 and 3.

NOTD - Orly's "Confetti" & B Collection by Bloom's "Bangkok"

This week I've been sporting a very pretty and feminine look on my nails. I dug out some oldies but goodies from my nail polish collection. Orly's "Confetti" and B Collection by Bloom's "Bangkok".

Confetti & Bangkok taken in natural light.

"Bangkok" is a gorgeous silver that is very opaque and gives a metallic finish on the nails. I applied two coats as an accent nail. The formula seems really nice and no chipping two days in. Bloom is an Australian company - a great excuse to check out more of their nail polish range.

"Bangkok"

Confetti is a lovely pastel baby pink colour. It epitomises feminine sophistication. You need some patience with this colour though - it can be a bit streaky and you will need 3-4 coats for an opaque colour. Orly's polishes are DBP, toluene and formaldehyde free which is awesome. Confetti is a Kardashian favourite and with good reason!

"Confetti"

I think this combination is really cute! The pictures have washed the pink out a bit but I must stress how lovely the colour is in real life.

Pretty pastel pink and bold silver polish.

Cosmetica Brush Cleaner

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend and enjoying your chocolate treats from the Easter Bunny. I have been having a lovely weekend spent with friends and family.

.....

If you're like me and get a bit lazy with deep cleaning your makeup brushes, spot cleaning can get you out of trouble. I will often spot clean my eyeshadow brushes if I need to use a different colour.

Cosmetica Brush Cleaner

Recently I have been reaching for the Cosmetica brush cleaner. It's easy and quick to use. You get a tissue and spray a bit on, then gently swirl your brush around to remove the colour from the brush. Spot cleaning using this method also means the brush dries very quickly compared to shampooing/deep cleaning.

Claims to clean, disinfect and condition natural and synthetic cosmetic brushes.

This brush cleanser smells of alcohol but is fragranced which somewhat masks the smell. Cheap and cheerful this does a great job. I picked my bottle up from Target for AU$14.95.

How do you clean your brushes?

Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay

Welcome to the first part of a mini-series on the Naked 2 palette. I will be using this palette to create some eyeshadow looks over the coming weeks with detailed photographs and step-by-step instructions on how to recreate the look.

Naked 2 packaging.

The Naked 2 palette is a great investment, and my personal favourite when comparing the Naked and Naked 2 palettes. The palette is largely cool tones with a mixture of matte and shimmer finishes.

Naked 2 colours.

The eyeshadows are a lovely quality. They're soft, easy to blend, and have good pigmentation.

L to R: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper.

The palette also comes with a dual ended eyeshadow brush (which I haven't featured in these photographs). You can see the slot where the brush can sit in though.

L to R: Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol.

The packaging is sturdy and very easy to clean compared to the Naked palette.

L to R: Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout.

If I could only have one eyeshadow palette it would be this one! I purchased my palette from Beauty Bay for AU$51.99.

Do you prefer the Naked or Naked 2 palette?

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner

This eyeliner is great for getting a fine line along the lashes. It's perfect for creating the cat eye or winged eyeliner look. The tip is made of very fine hairs which come to a point. I find it easy to use and would be a good option for beginners.

Master Precise Liner

The liner is unfortunately not as black as I prefer. When applied over the top of eyeshadow, the colour doesn't appear as strong.

Fine tip

I would recommend this for everyday use if you're not after a super black eyeliner look.

Do you use liquid liners?
